Available Aluminum Cylinder Finishes

Experienced divers prefer unpainted aluminum cylinders because unpainted cylinders better resist corrosion and retain their appearance with heavy use. We offer the brushed no-coat factory finish on our aluminum cylinders.

• "Clear Brushed" is a shiny clear coating with poor durability and is often confused with unpainted finishes.
  
• "Brushed No-Coat" is a smooth bright unpainted finish that retains it's appearance with heavy use.

The Dive Rite Express "Deluxe Complete" setup includes:

Dive Rite Express ships your cylinder with the valve installed. Unless you order another valve, the valve is a 200-Bar Pro DIN/K valve suitable for use with both DIN or Yoke regulator fittings. Your cylinder ships with a few PSI pressure of oxygen compatible air necessary to keep the interior dry. The cylinders have a current month Visual Inspection Sticker; no re-inspection is necessary before filling. SCUBA Tanks must be hydrostatically tested every five years (60 months). Inflation, pony and deco aluminum deco bottles typically have a factory hydro date between 6 and 12 months old, but not more than 24 months old.

The Price of the Standard Aluminum 80 SCUBA Tank Consumers sometimes use the price of an standard aluminum 80 (AL80) as a benchmark to evaluate the prices of a SCUBA equipment retailer. Many retailers price the standard AL80 at near cost, and then include free air fills to further discount the price to below their actual cost. The retailer thus sells the AL80 at a loss in order to appear to have good prices overall. If you are shopping for an air-only standard AL80 with a K-valve, you will probably find an excellent price at your local dive shop. However, an increasing number of retailers no longer stock aluminum cylinders because they are not profitable.

Dive Rite Express does offer an aluminum 80 cylinder in addition to the specialty cylinders you find on this page. Look carefully at what we include in our price. Both the cylinder and valve are Nitrox-Ready and say so on our VIP sticker. We install the valve with a Viton neck O-ring and oxygen-compatible lubricant; no VIP re-inspection fee is necessary before filling. Our price includes the better-quality Thermo Pro DIN/K 200 bar valve with insert, protector cap, and spare Viton O-ring for valve face. Our price also includes FREE shipping, without any additional surcharges. We can prepare your AL80 with stage straps and MOD markings or assemble them into doubles packages.
