Stage/Deco Bottle Straps

A stage or deco bottle strap is a piece of nylon webbing that encircles the stage/deco cylinder's neck and is secured at the cylinder's base by a stainless steel cylinder clamp. Stage straps provide the best means of attaching the two snaps needed to fasten the stage/deco cylinder to your shoulder and waist D-rings. Stage/Deco straps can also provide a carrying handle, and the base loops of the clips provide an attachment point for stowing regulator second stages.

Dive Rite® stage/deco straps are made from 2,200 lbs tensile strength nylon webbing that resists breakage, rot and splitting, to create a durable and long-lasting foundation for stage rigging. It's better than round cord because it does not stretch and lies flat against the side of the cylinder making it less likely to get caught on things. A loop to encircle the neck of the cylinder is already sewn in place. Just below the loop (the position is adjustable) is a snap that attaches to your shoulder strap D-ring. The strap then runs through a piece of vinyl tubing that acts as a carrying handle. The strap next passes under either a sheathed stainless steel cylinder clamp or compact cam strap. Some divers who travel prefer to replace the cylinder clamp with a cam strap so the entire bottle strap assembly can be easily installed or removed without need for screwdriver. At the far end of the strap is the snap used to clip off to the D-ring on your waist belt. Most people add one or two hose retainers to help dress the regulator hose neatly against the cylinder. The same strap works equally well for all size tanks but is available in two versions, each with different stainless steel hardware snaps. The "W" version strap with an extra large bolt snap is the most popular, and the "B" version with a butterfly snap is a close second because of ease of operation with heavy gloves. Note that MOD decals or the Dive Rite MOD tank wrap are available as separately ordered options.

Hose Retainers

• Both surgical tubing and shock cord can roll along the side of the tank, making them harder to manage.
• Surgical tubing oxidizes rapidly and, thus, wears out quickly.
• Shock cord can be difficult to fasten securely.
• Inner tube sections can be difficult to grip.
• Few do-it-yourself methods are cosmetically appealing.

The Dive Rite hose retainer bands are made from the same neoprene-foam-infused elastic as the Dive Rite computer wrist bands and elastic light head hand mounts. This material:

Build your own stage/deco bottle kit with the strap, clamp and hose retainer you prefer or the Dive Rite Express exclusive DELUXE STRAP KIT includes the strap with your choice of stainless steel snaps, a sheathed cylinder clamp and TWO hose retainers. You can further customize with the MOD Tank Wrap and 2nd Stage Pocket.

• X-Small clamps and hose retainers fit aluminum 13- and 19- cubic-foot cylinders.
• Small clamps and hose retainers fit aluminum 30- and 40- cubic-foot cylinders.
• Large clamps and hose retainers fit steel 71.2- cubic-foot and aluminum 80- cubic-foot cylinders.

For low-pressure 45 cubic-foot steel cylinders (5.5-inch diameter) you will need to separately order the desired strap, one or two small hose retainers and a large clamp, because the small clamp is slightly too small to fit the LP45's.

We also offer TRAVEL STRAP KIT versions similar to our Deluxe Strap Kit, but replace the cylinder clamp with a compact 1.5-inch Low Profile Cam Strap. Using the cam strap, instead of the cylinder clamp, offers an advantage that the entire stage/deco strap assembly can quickly be installed, removed or adjusted without need for a screwdriver.
