Dive Rite Express offers a comprehensive line of Thermo Valve Corporation brand standalone and modular SCUBA tank valves. All Thermo SCUBA valves are polished triple-bright chrome-plated brass for maximum protection and long-lasting beauty in salt water environments. During the manufacturing process, every Thermo valve is tested under high pressure to check for leaks and ease-of-operation. All Thermo valves and parts include a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Thermo Valve Configurations

All valves available with choice of 200-Bar or 300-Bar outlets.
Valve inlets have standard 0.750-14 NPS (3/4 NPS) neck threads
for use with aluminum and steel SCUBA tanks, including the new 3442 psi cylinders.

Standalone Valve TV5651

Standalone

The Thermo Standalone series is designed with an angled handwheel and a shielded side-mounted burst disk safety assembly to make the lifting of your cylinder easier.
H-Valve TV9200RH

H-Valve

Add an H-connector to the modular series to create a single cylinder with two valve outlets. The dual outlets allow you to use two regulators to provide backups in the event of a regulator or hose failure.
Manifold TV8200

Manifold with Isolator

Combine modular valves into a dual-outlet manifold configuration to dive with two cylinders as a single larger gas supply. The movable isolator helps conserve breathing gas during a burst disk release or cylinder neck O-ring failure. You may also disassemble, remove the center bar, and plug the modular valve center bar ports on manifolded doubles to make two single cylinders with single outlets.

If you are looking for special valves with 0.875-16 UNF (7/8 UNF) neck threads
to fit the older HP "Genesis" (3500 psi) cylinders, sorry but we do not stock that size.

Thermo Valve Features

Pro Outlet

Pro Outlet -- 200-Bar DIN / Yoke (K)

All of the Pro valves are for use with both DIN and yoke (K) regulator first stage fittings.
The outlet on the valve is a five-thread 200-Bar DIN, designed to accept an included yoke adapter insert.
DIN Outlet

DIN-Only Outlet -- 300-Bar DIN

All of the DIN-only valves are for use with DIN regulator first stage fittings.
The outlet on the valve is a seven-thread 300-Bar DIN. Note that the 300-Bar outlet does NOT accept a yoke adapter insert.
Easy Grip Handwheel

Handwheel

The nearly indestructible handwheel is made from soft rubber formed around a stainless steel insert. The stainless steel insert ensures positive operation with long-lasting life. The large ribs make it easy to open or close the valve even while wearing gloves. The rubber with stainless steel insert handwheel design is the preferred choice of cave divers. The black handwheel is standard, and an optional green handwheel is available.
Double O-Ring Seals

Double O-Ring Seals

The Thermo modular valves incorporate double O-ring seals known for their robust reliability. The double O-ring seal design is the preferred choice of cave and wreck divers.
Safety Assembly

Safety Assembly

All Thermo SCUBA valves come with a one-piece safety assembly (burst disk) that eliminates the possibility of mismatched components. This greatly reduces the likelihood of accidental incorrect installation of the safety assembly and protects the integrity of your diving cylinder. The safety device is shielded by the valve body to avoid damage during transportation or while diving.
High-Pressure Plug and Seat Assembly

High-Pressure Plug and Seat Assembly

All Thermo SCUBA valves come with a high-pressure plug and seat assembly manufactured from a high-tensile brass alloy, and the threaded area is coated with Teflon. Both the material and the Teflon coating ensure a lube-less, smooth operation and prolong the life of your valve.

These Products Are Nitrox-Ready Dive Rite Express offers diving products labeled "Nitrox Ready", whose oxygen-compatible components are free of hydrocarbons and other contaminants. With Dive Rite Express , you don't have to make expensive aftermarket alterations to use oxygen-rich gas mixtures.

What is the difference between DIN "200 Bar" and DIN "300 Bar" valves?
The Deutsches Institut Für Normung (DIN) is a German standards setting organization similar to our American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Compressed Gas Association (CGA). DIN 477 is a specification that recommends cylinder valve outlet and connector designs for specific types of gases and pressures based upon safety considerations. These various designs have deliberate incompatibilities to preclude the possibility of errors when handling different types of compressed gases at differing working pressures. The two valve outlets and connectors of interest for divers are the DIN 477 No. 13 and the DIN 477 No. 56 (formerly No. 50), both designated for use with compressed air. The DIN 477 valve and regulator fittings are most widely used outside the U.S. The regulator first stage DIN connector is a male screw type, and instead of clamping on to the outside of the valve as does the yoke, it screws directly into the female DIN outlet of the valve. The sealing O-ring is held in the end of the regulator connector rather than in the face of the outlet. The DIN 477 system, with it's captured o-ring design, has proven to be very reliable for use with SCUBA.

Outlet/Connector #13 is from DIN 477 part 1 - for cylinders with test pressure ratings up to 300 bar and is commonly referred to in the SCUBA industry by the slang term "200 bar", probably because most cylinders with 300 bar test pressures have working pressures in the 200 bar range. Outlet/Connector #56 is from DIN 477 part 5 - for cylinders with test pressure ratings up to 450 bar and is commonly referred to in the SCUBA industry by the slang term "300 bar". The two designs are nearly identical, but the #56 valve outlet is deliberately deeper so the shorter #13 connector will not be long enough to seat properly. This is a safety feature to prevent connecting a low pressure device to a high pressure supply. It's important to understand that the "200 bar" or "300 bar" descriptions are just slang terms that have nothing to do with the pressure ratings of the outlets and connectors themselves!

Do You Know Your Right From Your Left?
Modular valves come in right-hand and left-hand designs, referring to the side of the valve handwheel, not to which direction the valve opens. This can be confusing because there is not industry-wide agreement on the perspective from which the valve is viewed.
  • Dive Rite assigns left and right from the perspective with your face toward the valve opening. Thus Dive Rite says that the typical standalone valve is left-handed.

  • Thermo assigns left and right from the perspective with your face away from the valve opening (i.e., the tank is on your back). Thus Thermo says that the typical standalone valve is right-handed.

While both right- and left-hand valves always close and open using the "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey" rule, this can cause problems when modular valves are mounted on single tanks. Well-meaning individuals who fail to notice a valve with the handwheel on the uncommon side and reach to check "air is on" might actually close a valve believing they are doing the diver a favor of opening it. To prevent this from happening, it's a good idea to call modular valve configurations to the attention of divemasters and buddies.
