Black and Amber Surgical Tubing

Surgical Tubing

Surgical tubing is the diver's equivalent of duct tape with a huge range of applications for securing and managing diving equipment. Surgical tubing can contain solid rubber plugs that connect pieces of surgical tubing together. If you need one continuous piece longer than five feet, please let us know in the special instructions section on the checkout form.

Colors: Black and amber. There is no difference except personal color preference.

  • 3/8-inch (large) surgical tubing inside diameter is 1/8-inch, and wall thickness is 1/8-inch
  • 3/16-inch (small) surgical tubing inside diameter is 1/8-inch, and wall thickness is 1/32-inch

Shock Cord (Bungee)

Shock Cord (Bungee)

Shock cord (bungee) is a longer-lasting and more durable alternative to surgical tubing because it is rot-proof, waterproof, and resistant to mold, mildew and UV. Shock cord is constructed of continuous rubber strands with a Nylon abrasion-resistant braided jacket, suitable for marine applications. Stretches 100% of its original length; a piece 12-inch long will stretch to 24-inch. Orders up to 50 feet are shipped as one continuous piece. Note the 3/16-inch size shock cord is also available in a 100 foot ROLL at a substantial savings.

Color: Black

Sizes:
  • 3/16-inch (thick) shock cord is by far the more popular size, often used on regulator necklaces.
  • 1/8-inch (thin) shock cord is similar to cooked spaghetti, often used for wrist mounts.

Webbing

Webbing

Our webbing is rot-proof, waterproof, and resistant to mold, mildew and UV. It is suitable for marine applications.

Color: Black

Sizes:
  • The 2-inch standard Nylon webbing is the most widely used type for general-purpose diving applications, such as weight belts.
  • The 2-inch soft Nylon webbing is less stiff and is well suited for use in backplate harness rigging.
  • The 2-inch mil-spec Polypropolene webbing is very flexible and slightly thicker.
  • The 1-inch Nylon webbing is a softer webbing used for various straps.
  • The 1-inch Nylon tubular webbing is popular as a sheath for cylinder clamps.
If purchasing webbing for a backplate continuous harness, purchase 15 or 20 feet. The choice of soft vs mil-spec webbing for harness rigging is a personal choice as they are approximately equal in durability. Orders up to 50 feet are shipped as one continuous piece.
