Dive Table Sample Even with the widespread use of computers, pre-printed dive tables continue to have an important role in dive planning, backup, bailout, and especially in required-stop decompression diving. The waterproof flexible dive tables that we offer are designed to accompany the diver on the dive and are easy to read underwater. They are nearly indestructible and can be rolled or folded into a compact size.

The International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD) prepared these dive schedules in a standard structure that is familiar to divers trained in the use of traditional dive tables. The tables are printed on both sides of white waterproof fabric sheets using special flexible inks in black with blue and/or green highlighting. All sheets are 7-inch by 9-inch in size, have rounded corners and a punched hole so you can assemble several sheets into an easy-to-manage collection.

Warning These tables assume ideal circumstances for the diver and the dive. Consider your physical condition as well as conditions of the dive, then adjust the tables according to your training and experience. Proper use of these tables reduces the risk of decompression sickness and oxygen toxicity, but no tool can completely eliminate those risks.

Air and Equivalent Air Depth
No-Stop Decompression Limit (NDL) and Deco Tables
These table sets offer both no-stop required decompression limit tables and required-stop tables for advanced divers.

Front Back Description
EAD/MOD 24% to 38% (Front) EAD/MOD 40% to 100% (Back)

C3200 -- Equivalent Air Depth (EAD)
w/Maximum Operating Depth (MOD)

These tables allow you to determine the EAD for any Nitrox mixture from 24% to 40% in 2% increments, and 45% to 100% in 5% increments. They also include the MOD for PO2s from 1.30 ATA to 1.60 ATA in 0.5 ATA increments for each Nitrox mixture. This EAD/MOD table, in combination with ANY Air table, allows you to determine a dive schedule for ANY Nitrox mixture without additional calculations.

C3201 -- Oxygen Exposure Tracking

Oxygen exposure tracking is important in technical and rebreather diving. Use these tables to determine the Percent CNS O2 clock or Oxygen Toxicity Units (OTU) for any time exposure to PO2's from 0.60 ATA to 1.60 ATA in 0.05 ATA increments. Use the surface interval credit table to determine residual % CNS for surface intervals of :30, :60, :90, and 2 to 6 hours.Also included is a table to determine PO2's at depths of 10 fsw to 220 fsw in 10 fsw increments for Air, Nitrox and Oxygen.

These tables are for Air with Air as the deco gas. These tables are IANTD's format of the current US Navy schedules. Many divers always keep an Air NDL & Deco table at hand for those rare moments when the carefully prepared dive plan has undergone unplanned transformation. As a result, the US Navy Air NDL & Deco tables continue to be one of our most popular.

Bühlmann Air NDL (Front) Bühlmann Air Deco (Back)

C3501 -- Bühlmann Air NDL & Deco
w/Optional 75% Accelerated Deco

These tables are for Air with Air as the deco gas. For advanced Nitrox divers they also offer an optional accelerated deco schedule (highlighted in green) using 75% up to 100% Oxygen at the last two stop depths. These tables are based on Bühlmann's ZH-L16 algorithm. Many divers prefer the Bühlmann algorithm to the US Navy's. However, the repetitive letter group designations are not transferable to ANY other tables, including the US Navy tables.

Nitrox No-Stop Decompression Limit (NDL) and Deco Tables
These four table sets offer both no-stop required decompression limit schedules for sport Nitrox diving and required-stop schedules for advanced divers. These tables are all based on Bühlmann's ZH-L16 algorithm. The repetitive letter group designations allow transfer between these four specific table sets, allowing a different gas to be selected for each repetitive dive. However, the repetitive letter group designations are not transferable to ANY other tables.

Bühlmann-based tables are among the most widely used dive tables in the world, and the ZH-L16 algorithm is programmed into many of today’s dive computers. A comment sometimes heard from new users of Bühlmann tables is the schedules are conservative. When comparing a Bühlmann table with a US NAVY table, a diver will get slightly more no-decompression dive time using the US NAVY table, but only for the first dive. If the diver plans a repetitive dive, typically there is more no-decompression dive time using the Bühlmann table.

Technical Trimix Runtime Decompression Tables
These three table sets provide required-stop decompression runtime schedules for technical Trimix divers. These tables are all based on the Varying Permeability Model B (VPM-B) algorithm and incorporate deep stops. VPM-B is a decompression model well suited to deep technical diving. The deco profiles start deeper than most other models, using a micro-bubble-based mathematical model to compute decompression.

The reasoning behind the peculiar mixtures choosen to generate these tables has to do with the real world of gas blending. The tables were designed to allow variances between desired target and actual result when blending trimix. This means the final mixture may differ somewhat from the ideal, yet the diver still has a workable table. These tables have been calculated to allow for 1% variation in the Oxygen percentage and up to 10% variation in the Helium. For example, the 20/25% Trimix table can be used with 21/35% Trimix.

These tables are for 20/25%% Trimix (20% Oxygen with 25% Helium or greater) as the bottom gas. They also offer a single repetitive dive schedule assuming a minimum THREE-hour surface interval. This is the table to use for 21/35% Trimix.

These tables are for 19/40% Trimix (19% Oxygen with 40% Helium or greater) as the bottom gas. They also offer a single repetitive dive schedule assuming a minimum TWO-hour surface interval. This is the table to use for 18/45% Trimix.

A Common Mistake When Using Tables for Repetitive Dives

When an actual depth falls between two planned depth schedules,
select the deeper schedule on the bottom time (BT) table.

For example, if the dive will have a 65-foot depth, then determine the bottom time from the 70-foot schedule. The deeper schedule increases the margin of safety.

A common mistake is applying the next deeper schedule rule to the Residual Nitrogen Time (RNT) table when determining the RNT deduction from the bottom time for the repetitive dive. The proper action when determining the RNT is to use the next shallower schedule.

When an actual depth falls between two planned depth schedules,
select the shallower schedule on the Residual Nitrogen Time (RNT) table.

For example, if the dive will have a 65-foot depth, then determine the Residual Nitrogen Time from the 60-foot schedule. The shallower schedule increases the RNT deduction from bottom time, increasing the margin of safety.
