How to Protect your VR3A key benefit of purchasing a VR3 is the security offered by the PIN system. Using the base model PIN, up to 32 characters of personalization information (such as name and phone number) can be entered on your VR3 to be automatically displayed whenever the computer is activated. Without the PIN, personalization information can not be changed. If your VR3 is ever lost or stolen, you can notify VR Technology in the event your VR3 serial number ever re-appears during any service or upgrade. Store your PINs separately from your computer and register ownership of your VR3 with VR Technology. Don't worry about losing your PINs, VR Technology can always re-issue PINs to the registered owner. |

Multi-Color DisplayThis Feature Activation PIN allows you to change your 2008 VR3 HD model from single-color (i.e. black and white) to multi-color. With this PIN, the LCD takes you to the Color Modes screen which allows you to change the colors associated with particular functions and areas of the VR screens. If you are happy with the default colors, there is no need to adjust anything in this screen. |

VPM Decompression AlgorithmWith the VPM upgrade, the VR3 diver has the option of choosing the decompression algorithm they prefer for the type of dive they are doing. The diver may switch between the standard VR3 (Bühlmann ZH-L16 based) algorithm with 2 minute deep stops or a version of the Varying Permeability Model B/E algorithm developed for the VR3. For firmware revisions prior to V5.0, 2007v3 and 2008v3, support for the VPM decompression algorithm requires physical update to the VR3 dive computer itself. |

Gas Blending CalculatorThis Feature Activation PIN allows you to calculate gas blending pressures (in PSI or BAR). Determine how much gas to add by changing the Have settings. You can also calculate the mix using the WANT column by changing the MaxD (maximum depth in Feet or Meters), EAND (Equivalent Narcotic Depth in Feet or Meters) and PPO2 settings. |
| Note: Effective with the 2008 VR3 HD model, the Big Graphics, Decobooks and More Games features are no longer available as separately orderable PINs. When you buy the PIN to activate Gas Calculator mode (item UG15) you now also get the PIN for Big Graphics Mode free of charge. This enables you to double the size of the depth and time digits in the Dive Screen with the VR3 in X10 mode only. | The PIN codes enabling your VR3 to link to a PC or monitor an oxygen sensor are usually bundled with the appropriate cables. If you own multiple VR3's you may have no need of purchasing the accessory cables, but still need to enable the feature on the VR3 itself. We offer the Feature Activation PIN codes separately, just add the appropriate VR3 feature upgrade to the Dive Rite Express shopping cart below and include your VR3 Serial Number in the "Special Instructions" block at check out. Fast turnaround Firmware Update service is now available for your VR3. Your firmware will be updated to the latest version supported by your VR3 electronics revision level. For "C" revision electronics with Mono or Spectrum LCD's, the firmware will be updated to the 2007v3 version. For previous revision electronics the firmware will be updated to the 3.0 version. (To identify your electronics, look at the last letter of the revision level on the startup screen.) Complete Health Check service for your VR3 is recommended every 3-years by VR Technology and, along with updating the firmware, includes replacing all O-rings, cleaning the I/O connector and switches, calibration and diagnostic check. Upgrade your existing VR3 Mono or Spectrum to the High Definition model with the 2008 firmware. The VR3-HD offers outstanding clarity of the display screen. Many of the display screens have been redesigned to take advantage of the high definition and to be easier to interpret. There have been significant improvements to the user interface software: navigation is easier and faster, plus the information to be presented on the dive screen is user configurable. There is also a pre-dive check function that makes it quick and easy to verify and change configuration settings prior to diving. Rebreather divers will appreciate the new quick and easy switching for open circuit bailout. HD Upgrade pricing is determined by your existing model VR3 (mono or spectrum color) plus the revision level of your VR3 electronics. See the bottom of the line of your VR3 start-up screen to determine revision level. The 'C' revision electronics board will display V3.03aC, V2007v3 or V5.0 on start-up or the 'B' board will display 2.1 CSR, V3.03aB, or V3.02aB on start-up.
